The club is already dealing with long-term injuries to new signings Leny Yoro (three months) and Rasmus Hojlund (six weeks), both missing the Community Shield against Manchester City. The Red Devils defeated Real Betis 3-2 in the penultimate game of their pre-season tour in the United States at San Diego, California. Marcus Rashford scored the opening goal with his penalty in the 18th minute.

But the academy star was forced off after he went down for several minutes when Betis’ Sergi Altimira trodded on his right foot. The 26-year-old forward led the line due to Rasmus Hojlund‘s absence. Rashford hobbled down the tunnel in what looked like a serious ankle injury.

Winger Antony was also subbed off with an apparent injury.

Which other Man United players have been injured?

Manchester United suffered a double injury setback after they lost new signing Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund to long-term injuries. Both players were injured during United’s 2-1 loss to Arsenal in their first game of the pre-season tour.

Summer signing Leny Yoro who arrived from Lille has been ruled out for three months with a foot injury whereas Hojlund will be sidelined for six weeks with a hamstring injury which causes him to miss the start of the Premier League campaign.

Both players will miss the Community Shield against Manchester City on August 10 at Wembley Stadium.

Lisandro Martinez will return to training next week following his Copa America exploits.
