Manchester United Transfer News: Juventus’ Gleison Bremer targeted by Erik ten Hag’s side

Manchester United have started outlaying their plans for the upcoming transfer window as a team of scouts are readying their targets to present to the board. United are thought to be a busy party in the summer window with the involvement of the INOS group, who acquired a minor stake at the club in December. Among those reported targets, United are interested in signing Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer who is on the team’s radar.

Manchester United interested in Gleison Bremer

Signed from city rivals Torino in 2022, Juventus currently view Bremer as one of the top players at the club and could offer him a long-term deal. However, according to reports, United are interested in the 27-year-old and could bid for him in the summer. He fits the bill perfectly with the United hierarchy reluctant to extend deals for Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans. This could leave the Red Devils short of options at the centre-back if they are to compete in Europe and other domestic competitions.

Bremer’s arrival in the team could also be a headache for Harry Maguire as he too has been linked with a move away from the club. He was about to join West Ham United in 2023 summer before the deal collapsed with Erik ten Hag reluctant to allow him to join at the end of the window without signing a replacement.

For Bremer, it could be a different experience for him playing in England having only played in his native Brazil and Italy. He has been capped three times by the national team of Brazil and looks set to be the ideal replacement for outgoing Thiago Silva in the Brazil side.

Decisive week for Manchester United

United, not in action over the weekend in the Premier League due to FA Cup commitments are still in the race for Champions League qualification after Spurs and Aston Villa dropped points. A win for Ten Hag and his army against a boosted Liverpool in FA Cup side has raised the confidence level of the side.

United beat Liverpool 3-2 after extra time which helped them book their place in the semifinal of the FA Cup. With a tie against Coventry, United have one foot in the final of the FA Cup as they could end the season with silverware.

Defenders Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia were not part of the squad for Sunday’s game with all injured. United currently are without a recognised left-back which has forced them to fill the void using utility players.
