Matty Cash Hamstring Injury: When will the defender return for Aston Villa?

Right back Matty Cash was in action for Poland in the March international break as the nation took on Estonia in semifinals of the Euro qualifiers. Unfortunately for Aston Villa and Poland, the defender sustained a hamstring injury just 10 minutes after coming on against Estonia. While the Matty Cash hamstring injury didn’t deter Poland, who went on to win the semifinal and set up a final against Wales in a fight for the last spot in the Euro 2024, the injury raised concerns about the well-being of the defender.

Initially the injury looked very serious as Cash was ruled out from the squad for the final against Wales. However, after evaluating the injury, it has been revealed that the Matty Cash injury will only rule out the defender for up to three weeks and he will return to Aston Villa at the business end of the season. The news will certainly see the English club and the Poland national team breathe a sigh of relief as Matty Cash won’t miss the Euros. His return will also boost Aston Villa’s ambition of winning the UEFA Conference League.

Matty Cash continues to support his nation from the sidelines

Despite the injury, Matty Cash was energetic and extremely supportive of the Polish national team in the finals of the Euro Qualifiers against Wales. The game was closely contested with Poland edging Wales only on penalty shootouts at the very end. An excited Matty Cash even expressed his love for Poland and the national team by tweeting a picture of him in front of the TV celebrating.

Cash is now expected to return for Aston Villa in late April and will also be available for Poland in June to participate in the Euros, bar any surprises and new injuries.
