Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk left the pitch midway during Brighton vs Chelsea to undergo a treatment from the medical team. The Ukrainian was challenged by Brighton’s full-back Tareq Lamptey when both teams clashed at the AMEX Stadium.
The VAR initially checked for a deliberation possibility but then decided it was not a foul. Lamptey carried on with the game while Mudryk had an assessment on the pitch-side before it was announced that the latter had to leave the pitch earlier.
Mykhaylo Mudryk Injury: The official statement is yet to be announced
Mudryk was allegedly said to have a concussion after the head collision with Lamptey. The Blues’ medical team would examine the condition carefully before returning with follow up updates regarding the player.
Manager Mauricio Pochetino then put Christian Nkunku on as a replacement for the former Shakhtar Donetsk player. Mudryk has played in 40 games for Chelsea across the competition this season, scoring seven goals in the process.
A Europa League zone is still possible for Chelsea who are sitting sixth on the current table. The Blues have just three-point gap to the fellow London-based team Tottenham Hotspur with 63 points.
