Ake was spotted in substantial discomfort as he sat down on the pitch before receiving the attention from City’s medical staff.

Man City’s manager Pep Guardiola seemed concerned after seeing Nathan Ake leave the pitch before the first-half whistle against Arsenal. In his post-match interview, he was asked about an update on the defender. The veteran manager reportedly pointed out that the player has played a decent chunk of games lately and further asserted –

“It happens sometimes. I didn’t speak with the doctors but if he (Ake) decided to go out it is because something happened”.

Pep also reflected that the Dutch player could be out for a notable period and his return remains hazy as of now. The reigning champions have already a gruelling injury list in the form of players like John Stones and Kyle Walker. If Ake’s injury scare turns out to be a significant one it can further hamper City’s defensive prowess leaving them reeling in terms of their title defence for the remainder of the 2023-2024 Premier League season.
