Netherlands vs England Player Ratings: Xavi Simons 8; Kobbie Mainoo 7

England have managed to reach back-to-back continental finals as they have beaten The Netherlands 2-1 and are now set to face Spain this weekend in the final of Euro 2024 . Sportsdunia brings you all the Netherlands vs England Player Ratings!

Xavi Simons gave The Netherlands the lead in the 7th minute after stealing the ball off Declan Rice. His shot from outside the box was too powerful and Jordan Pickford’s effort was also rather poor.

England did not have to wait long for the equalizer as Harry Kane won a penalty and converted it in the 18th minute. However, they needed to wait until the 91st minute to seal the win when Ollie Watkins made it 2-1.

Goalkeeper

Bart Verbruggen

Bart Verbruggen – 6.5: Had to make just two saves and almost kept out Harry Kane’s penalty. Hardly anything he could do about Ollie Watkins’ winner.

Defenders

Virgil van Dijk

Denzel Dumfries – 6: Many would say it was a harsh call for the penalty, but there was contact and as per rules, it is a penalty. Had a rather quiet game otherwise.

Stefan de Vrij – 6: Was having a good game, but his defending for England’s winner was poor. Failed to put enough pressure on Watkins in stopping the shot.

Virgil van Dijk – 6: His worst nightmare from club football, Ollie Watkins has given him another moment of shock. Not his best game today as he was not able to influence much.

Nathan Aké – 6.5: Decent game, but had trouble dealing with Saka. Still managed to do better than most of his teammates.

Midfielders

Jerdy Schouten – 7: Won most of his duels and completed 95% of his passes. But still, there was nothing much from him in the middle of the park.

Tijjani Reijnders – 6.5: Was all over the pitch and hardly made any real impact. Played the full match, but was missing when needed.

Donyell Malen – 6: Taken off at half time as he was just not doing enough. Managed just two passes and one shot, which was easily blocked.

Xavi Simons – 8: Cracking goal and was brilliant today. Would be kicking himself for not converting from his chance in the second half.

Cody Gakpo – 6: A rather quiet game for the Dutchman who has been brilliant this summer. He was easily the Netherlands’ best player at Euro 2024, but not today.

Forward

Goalkeeper

Jordan Pickford

Jordan Pickford – 6: Would be buying Ollie Watkins and Harry Kane dinner today as their goals helped the England fans forget about his woeful effort to try to save the goal that Netherlands scored. Made two saves in the game, but both hardly troubled him.

Defenders

Marc Guehi

Kyle Walker – 6.5: When he gets to the dressing room, he would find it hard to sit with Cody Gakpo in his pocket. Managed to keep the opponent’s best player in check and never gave him a real chance.

John Stones – 6.5: Did not have a lot to do as such and was rarely called into defensive action. Won all his duels and completed 98% of his passes.

Marc Guéhi – 7: Threw himself at the ball when Weghorst was about to shoot. Showed that he was ready to do anything to stop the opponents from scoring today.

Kieran Trippier – 6: Yet another match in which he could not do much to impact the game. Taken off at half time for Luke Shaw.

Midfielders

Declan Rice

Kobbie Mainoo – 7: Impressive from the youngster once again. Had more to do off the ball than on it, but was ready to help when needed.

Declan Rice – 6: Was caught out in horrific fashion for the Netherlands goal and was not having his best game. Will be delighted that his forwards got them the goals to seal a win.

Jude Bellingham – 6.5: Was playing much higher than usual today and also switching places with Foden. Could not get a shot away and was marked out most of the time.

Forwards

Harry Kane

Bukayo Saka – 6: Tried his best to get past Nathan Ake, but the Dutchman won most of their battles. He managed just one shot today and it was blocked.

Phil Foden – 6: Quietly having a tournament to forget. Maybe it is fatigue, maybe it is the role – but things are just not working out for Foden.

Harry Kane – 6.5: Another game where Kane was hardly making an impact but today, he managed to get a goal under his belt. A well taken penalty gave England the much-needed equalizer in the first half.
