Premier League Title Race: Matches That Could Tilt the Momentum as Man City, Arsenal, and Liverpool Fight It Out for the Trophy

The 2023-2024 Premier League title race has surely been one for the ages. The top three teams in the form of Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool are separated by just one point at the moment. Several approaching fixtures of these teams could well turn out to be the deciding factor as to who will be lifting this season’s league title leaving others empty-handed.

Important upcoming fixtures in the Premier League title race

Man City vs Arsenal

Man City vs Arsenal fixture could well be the turning point in the Premier League title race for the 2023-2024 season. The Gunners hold a one-point lead over City as they currently sit on the top of the league’s table with 64 points to their name. Man City would not want Arsenal to win at Etihad as that would further tip the momentum in favour of the London-based club.

Manchester United vs Liverpool

When Liverpool visits Old Trafford to face Manchester United soon, they will be wary of the home threat that the Red Devils possess. However, the Merseyside club would be highly focused on getting the job done and getting all three points on the day as it could keep them in the potential title race for this season. Comparingly, United would fancy their chances against the visitors to boost their Champions League qualification hopes for the next season.

Aston Villa vs Liverpool

Aston Villa has been flying under Unai Emery. The Midlands outfit has surprised everyone with how they have performed in the 2023-2024 Premier League season so far. Their attacking gameplay has proven to be a tough nut for the opposition to crack. They currently sit at the fourth spot in the league table. With players like Ollie Watkins, Leon Bailey, and John Mcginn in their ranks, Emery’s team might play the spoilsport for Liverpool when they visit Villa Park.

Liverpool vs Wolves

Liverpool will play Wolves at Anfield in their final match of the season. It would be Jurgen Klopp’s last game in charge of the Reds before his summer exit. The fixture could turn out to be a must-win for Klopp’s side depending on how things shape up leading to it. However, Wolves might get their star players like Pedro Neto, and Hwang Hee-chan back from injury till then. So, it could turn out to be a stern task for the hosts.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

The London derby could be one of those fixtures that can shift the momentum in terms of the Premier League title race. If the Gunners want to cement their place at the top of the Premier League table and avoid a glitch like the previous season, they would have to make sure that they beat Spurs in the high-octane clash. A win in that fixture could work as an emotional boon for them. On the contrary, a loss could hamper their title run immensely.

Manchester City vs Aston Villa

Villa did defeat City by a scoreline of 1-0 in the reverse fixture at Villa Park. However, with Pep Guardiola’s side chasing the Premier League title in front of a full house at Etihad, City looks likely to get a positive result from the clash. It could depend on the club’s result against Arsenal, as how confident Man City would be going into the fixture against the Midlands team on April 3. However, Villa are pretty capable of causing an upset on the day. So, City would have to approach the game quite cautiously without taking the visitors lightly.
