5 players Tottenham Hotspur should sell this summer

Ange Postecoglou demands a stronger and deeper squad for Tottenham Hotspur next season. To materialize his target, the Greece-born manager has to “clean” his squad from some ineffective names who can stand in the way of his plan.

Spurs have done a decent job this season after finishing fifth in the league, better than their eighth-place finish in the previous season. As a preparation for the player-hunting season this summer, The Lilywhites have to let some players go to get the money in exchange.

Tottenham Hotspur Transfers: Here are the 5 players that Spurs should offload

Sergio Reguilon

The Spaniard spent more time on loan since joining Tottenham Hotspur in 2020. This season, Reguilon has played for two clubs. He came to Manchester United in the summer and returned to London during the winter transfer window.

Two weeks after returning from his loaning spell with United, Reguilon was sent to Brentford for another exile. The Bees’ manager Thomas Frank, is rumored to be happy with his work ethic, considering signing him permanently in the summer.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Hojbjerg came to strengthen the midfield, which he has done well so far. His contract will expire next year, making the summer transfer window the best time to find a suitor for the Danish.

Despite playing 35 league games this season so far, Hojbjerg struggled to find his place in the first team. Spurs can offload him to gain more money, spend it on fresher talents in the market and prepare the squad for competing at the highest level next season.

Emerson Royal

Everything was going fine for Emerson Royal until Pedro Porro came to Spurs last summer. The former is facing uncertainty about his future with rumours saying that the club manager Ange Postecoglou is considering selling him.

This season alone, Emerson played only 21 games in the league. Compared to Porro, the gap is significant, with the latter appearing 34 times in the league this season. Spurs are reported to need huge cash to strengthen the team this summer.

Giovani Lo Celso

The Argentinian defender is not happy with his presence at the club after having limited playing time under Ange Postecoglou this season. Football London wrote that Lo Celso was in talks with his former side Real Betis.

With only playing 24 times across the competitions, an exit door is likely to open for Lo Celso. Lo Celso still has one remaining season on his contract with Spurs and leaving in this summer might be a wise option for his footballing career.

Ryan Sessegnon

Sessegnon played only twice for the whole season, with one appearance in the FA Cup and one other in the Premier League. He spent most of this season dealing with surgery and injuries.

He was one of the hottest young prospects for England back in his Fulham day. However, with his latest situation, Postecoglou would not waste another time dealing with Sessegnon, and selling him might not be that bad.
