Vincent Kompany market price revealed as Bayern Munich desperately want to sign the Belgian

Vincent Kompany market price: The Clarets don’t want to lose him for cheap

Bayern Munich are eyeing Vincent Kompany as their next permanent manager but there’s a problem: Burnley are demanding a huge asking price. Although a verbal agreement has been reached between the two parties, the Clarets are demanding €20 million compensation for the Belgian, whose contract with the side runs until 2028.

Since retiring his playing career in 2020, Kompany instantly returned to action by taking up management at Anderlecht, where he last played. After two years there, he took up Burnley’s role and guided them back into the Premier League from the EFL Championship. However, following a poor campaign in the 2023-24 season, the Clarets were relegated again.

However, that hasn’t dissuaded Bayern from pursuing the former Manchester City skipper, as all their previous choices have turned them down. Kompany has reportedly reached a verbal agreement, but according to Sky, Burnley want a hefty sum, as his departure could stir a financial windfall within the club.

The Lancashire outfit aims to rebuild their squad with that money and return to Premier League in 2025.

Kompany will have a huge task at Bayern

If Vincent Kompany’s move to Bayern Munich does indeed materialize, then he will be faced with a huge rebuilding task on his hands. The Bavarians are coming off a trophyless campaign, their first in 12 years. Their Bundesliga dominance was finally ended by the ‘invincible’ Bayer Leverkusen, while Bayern also came up short in the DFB Pokal and the Champions League too. In such a scenario, it’s strange for them, especially for a club of their stature, to chase someone who just oversaw a relegation from top division, but nonetheless, this will be Kompany’s biggest challenge of his managerial career yet.
