Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. nominated for La Liga Player of the Month for March 2024

Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr. is among five players nominated for the La Liga Player of the Month award for March 2024. While there is still one matchweek remaining in the month of March, La Liga have announced the nominees for the POTM award.

Vinicius is one of the names on the list as he has been in stellar form for Real Madrid this month. The Brazilian winger has scored five goals and provided one assist in just three league games in March.

He scored a brace in Los Blancos’ 2-2 draw at Valencia before getting a goal and an assist in their 4-0 win over Celta Vigo. Vinicius also scored a brace in their 4-2 win over Osasuna in their last La Liga game before the international break.

Vinicius has only won the La Liga Player of the Month award once before in 2021. He is, however, one of the leading candidates to win it this time around.

La Liga POTM March 2024 nominees along with Vinicius

Robert Lewandowski

Lewandowski is hoping to make it consecutive POTM award wins in La Liga as he won it in February 2024 as well.

The Polish striker has scored one goal and provided three assists in three league games in March for Barcelona. After a goalless draw against Athletic Bilbao, he provided an assist in their 1-0 win over Mallorca. Lewandowski then scored a goal and provided two assists in their 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid.

Brais Mendez

The Real Sociedad attacking midfielder has scored one goal and contributed two assists in three La Liga games in March.

Mendez scored in Real Sociedad’s 3-2 defeat against Sevilla. He then provided an assist each in their 3-2 win over Granada and 2-0 win over Cadiz.

Alexander Sorloth

Sorloth has scored four goals and provided an assist in three La Liga games for Villarreal in March 2024. He started the month with a hat-trick in their 5-1 win over Granada.

The Norwegian striker then contributed a goal and an assist in Villarreal’s 3-2 win over Real Betis. He didn’t get any goal contribution in their 1-0 win over Valencia.

Gorka Guruzeta

The Athletic Bilbao centre-forward has scored three goals in three league games in March 2024.

Following a goalless draw against Barcelona, he scored in Athletic’s 2-0 win over Las Palmas. Guruzeta then scored both goals in their 2-0 win over Deportivo Alaves.
