Watford vs Leeds ended in an entertaining 2-2 draw as the hosts performed extremely well to earn a point against the table-toppers at Vicarage Road on March 29.

Both teams made good starts to the first half in which football was played at a good tempo, and all over the pitch. However, Emmanuel Dennis restored Watford’s advantage on the cusp of half-time. The Nigerian forward received a pass from midfielder Edo Kayembe and applied a cool finish to make it 2-1 in the 44th minute. The Hornets led 2-1 at the break.

Leeds United made a strong start to the second half as they looked to take the game to Watford. They kept the ball for extended spells with the hopes of breaking down the hosts’ shape. With 77% in the second period, Leeds attempted eight shots with five on target. Watford, on the other hand, failed to hit the target despite three attempts.

Substitute Mateo Joseph made an instant impact for Leeds United late in the game. Having come on in the 84th minute, Joseph scored just a minute later to level the game for the visitors.
