Coach Roberto Martinez made the decision to give the star player some much-needed rest ahead of Portugal’s Euro 2024 campaign, which kicks off in June.

Ronaldo Impressive For Al Nassr This Season

The exclusion of Ronaldo comes as a result of a demanding campaign in the Saudi Pro League with his club, Al Nassr. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been instrumental for Al Nassr, contributing with 30 goals and 11 assists in 30 appearances this season.

His absence will provide him with an opportunity to recuperate and recharge ahead of the crucial Euro 2024 tournament.

Despite his absence from international duty, Ronaldo’s impact on the pitch remains undeniable. With 128 goals and 46 assists in 205 matches for Portugal, the 39-year-old continues to be a key figure in their pursuit of European glory.

As Portugal gears up for their opening Euro 2024 fixture against the Czech Republic on June 19, all eyes will be on Ronaldo as he aims to add to his impressive international tally.
