In an astonishing turn of events in Barcelona, it now seems that Xavi will stay on as FC Barcelona manager after a positive meeting with Barca board!

While Xavi announced his intentions to step down as Barcelona manager at the end of the season earlier this year, there is shocking news coming out of Barcelona now. According to Fabrizio Romano, after several attempts of the Barcelona management to make the legendary midfielder stay at the helm of La Blaugrana, it seems that now Xavi will stay on as Barcelona manager!

The news follows on the heels of a meeting which was scheduled at FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta’s residence earlier today where Xavi met the Barca board and also had a face-to-face meeting with sporting director Deco. It seems that after a long conversation, the management has finally been able to convince the gaffer and will now see him continue as the boss next season. 

With the positive discussion coming to an end, formal steps of a new contract and a public confirmation are expected to follow soon. The news will certainly excite Barcelona fans as Xavi has severely transformed the side in the past few seasons.
