Privacy Policy

Effective 9 August 2026. This policy explains what the Sportsdunia mobile app collects, why, and the choices you have — including the data our third-party attribution and analytics partner processes on our behalf. It supplements, and should be read alongside, the Sportsdunia website privacy policy.

01Introduction

The Sportsdunia mobile app ("App", "we", "us") is operated by Indo Digital Private Limited, Gurgaon, Haryana, India. We provide live scores, commentary, match statistics and sports news. This policy describes the personal data the App collects when you install and use it, how that data is processed, and the rights available to you under the GDPR, India's DPDP Act 2023, the CCPA, and India's IT Act 2000.

Where the website policy describes our web properties, this document is scoped to the mobile application and its embedded SDKs, including a third-party attribution and analytics SDK we use for install measurement, campaign performance, and fraud prevention.

02Definitions

  • Device Identifiers — IDFA/IDFV (iOS) or the Google Advertising ID (Android), used to attribute app installs to a marketing source.
  • Attribution Data — information about which channel, ad, or referral link led to an app install or event.
  • SDK — a software library embedded in the App, operated by a third-party service provider, that collects data on our behalf under our instructions.
  • Personal Data — any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

03Data we collect directly

When you create an account or use the App, we collect:

  • Name, email address, profile photo (if provided), and account credentials
  • Device specifications, IP address, and in-app usage metrics
  • Sports preferences, followed teams/players, and interaction patterns
  • Crash and diagnostic logs used to keep the App stable

04Attribution & analytics SDK

The App uses a third-party mobile measurement SDK to understand how users find the App and to protect it from install fraud. This provider acts as our data processor: it collects data under our instructions and does not use it for its own independent purposes.

Collected by default, every session: session/app-launch events, device identifiers (IDFA/IDFV on iOS, Advertising ID on Android), OS version, and SDK version.

Collected only if configured: in-app purchase/revenue events, custom in-app events, and any additional parameters we choose to send.

Never collected through our integration: precise location, contacts, photos, messages, health data, or financial account details.

What each field is used for

DataPurposeStatus
Device ID (IDFA/IDFV, GAID)Attribute installs to a campaign; prevent duplicate/fraudulent installsRequired
Session & app-launch eventsCore analytics — engagement and retention measurementRequired
Device metadata (OS, SDK version)Attribution accuracy and fraud detectionRequired
In-app / purchase eventsCampaign performance reportingOptional
IP addressApproximate geolocation for attribution; not stored raw beyond processingRequired

Data is transmitted to our attribution and analytics provider over HTTPS and is never shared by the SDK with other apps on your device. Where analytics data is used, hashed identifiers are applied; unhashed advertising IDs are only associated with your data where you've provided tracking consent (see Section 7).

06How we use your data

  • Deliver and personalize match scores, commentary, and notifications
  • Measure which channels drive installs and engagement (via our attribution partner)
  • Detect and prevent fraudulent installs and abusive activity
  • Diagnose crashes and improve app performance
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

07App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On iOS 14.5+, the first time the App wants to use your device identifier for tracking-related purposes (e.g. attributing installs to an ad campaign), you'll see Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.

  • If you allow tracking: our attribution SDK may access your IDFA to attribute the install and measure campaign performance.
  • If you decline: the SDK omits the IDFA and any tracking-dependent data points; attribution falls back to non-tracking signals such as install referrer and aggregated, privacy-preserving measurement (e.g. SKAdNetwork). Core app functionality is unaffected either way.

You can change this choice anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

08Google Play Data Safety

For our Android listing, the App's Play Store "Data safety" section discloses data collected by both the App and its attribution/analytics SDK. In summary:

CategoryCollectedShared
App activity (sessions, launches)YesYes — with our analytics partner
Device or other IDsYesYes — with our attribution partner
Approximate locationDerived from IP, not GPSNo
Precise location, contacts, photos, health dataNoNo

All data sent to this provider is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). You may request deletion of data associated with your device identifier at any time — see Section 12.

09Third-party sharing

We share data with a limited set of processors, strictly for the purposes below:

  • Attribution & analytics provider — install attribution, campaign analytics, fraud prevention
  • Advertising partners — non-personalized or, with consent, personalized ad delivery
  • Cloud infrastructure & hosting providers — to operate the App's backend

We do not sell personal data.

10International transfers

Some processors, including our attribution and analytics provider, process data outside India. Where this occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and other mechanisms recognized under GDPR and the DPDP Act.

11Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above. Attribution and analytics data held by our processor is retained per our contractual data-retention terms with that provider, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

12Your rights & choices

  • Access, correct, or export your personal data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Withdraw tracking consent at any time (ATT settings on iOS; ad ID reset/opt-out on Android)
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 16.

13Security

We use encryption in transit and at rest where applicable, access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using industry-standard practices.

14Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

15Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our App or legal obligations change. Material changes will be communicated in-app or via email before they take effect.
