After consecutive 2 wins in a row, the Indian Women's team lost the momentum and faced defeat against Australia, South Africa, and England. In the end, India went to the Semi-Final, where the Women in Blue made history by breaking the 15-match winning streak of the mighty Aussies in the World Cup. In the Finals, the Indian Women were up against the Proteas women, where they clinched the title by 52 runs. Shafali Verma shone with bat and ball too; she was the Player of the match in the finals, whereas Deepti Sharma was the Player of the tournament.
