After taking his retirement from the cricketing career, Kiran Powar has served multiple roles with several different teams. The Mumbai-based cricketer started his coaching career with Vidarbha Under-19 team, becoming their head coach.

Following this stint, he became a batting coach at the MCA cricket academy and head coach for the Mumbai Under-16. Recently, he was managing the Under-23 side of Mumbai, before taking up the role of head coach for Assam. He will be starting this role from the next season of Ranji Trophy.
