ACC Takes Massive step to Tackle Extreme Weather Conditions in Asia Cup

The countdown for the Asia Cup 2025 has begun as the tournament is less than two weeks away. The event will begin on 9th September and will continue till the end of the month, with the final scheduled to be played on 28th September.

The Asia Cup 2025, which will be hosted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), will be played across two venues in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai and Sheikh Zayed International Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi will be hosting all the games in the tournament.

The Asia Cup 2025 will be played in T20I format this time around as the next ICC event is the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The continental tournament, no doubt, will serve as a great preparation for all the participating teams. The Asia Cup 2025 consists of some of the best cricket teams in the world like India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

A total of eight teams will be part of the tournament and they have been divided into two groups each. The top two teams from each group will advance into the Super Four stage, where each team will play three games. The top two teams in the points table will then play the final, which will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

ACC Changes Asia Cup 2025 Timings

With the Asia Cup 2025 around the corner, the preparations for all the teams are in full flow. Apart from India, all the other sides are playing some games and will be heading into the tournament with some good game time under their belt, which might come in handy.

Earlier, the timings of Asia Cup 2025 were set to be 7:30 PM IST. The toss was scheduled to be done at 7:00 PM. However, the extremely hot conditions in the United Arab Emirates have led the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to make a massive change in the Asia Cup match timings.

According to News 24, it is learned that the matches in the Asia Cup 2025 will now begin from 8:00 PM IST. The Asia Cup timings were changed because the extreme warm conditions won't be suitable for players and might result in injuries as well. As a result, the ACC doesn't want to take any risk.

The reports in Cricbuzz also claimed the same, and it is reported that a request was made to the broadcaster, and the Asian Cricket Council seems to have agreed. This means that the game will now begin at 6.30 local time, which is 8 PM in India.

When Will Team India Leave For Asia Cup 2025?

Coming to the Indian Cricket Team, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side will be one of the hot favourites to win the Asia Cup 2025. The Men in Blue have some of the most dangerous batsmen in the world. As per the reports in Cricbuzz, the team will assemble in Dubai on 4th September with players boarding flights from different parts of India.

The first practice session of the Team India has been scheduled on 5th September. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side will begin their campaign in the tournament against the UAE on 10th September at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

After that game, India-Pakistan game, one of the greatest rivalries in cricket, will take place on 14th September at the same venue. Their last league game will be against Oman on 19th September. However, for that, they will be travelling to Abu Dhabi as the Sheikh Zayed International Cricket Stadium will host their last league game.

India are the defending champions of the Asia Cup. They thumped Sri Lanka in the final of the last edition, which was played in the ODI format. They would be keen to carry on their good form and lift another title, this time under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav.
