Aditya Dhar was amongst the talented cricketers and even aimed to play the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2002. He was all set to make his presence felt in the side, but an unfair selection cost him a place, which came as a turning point in his career.
As per various reports, the son of a famous cricketer was given the spot over Aditya, which ignited discussions about nepotism in Indian sports. The same was revealed by filmmaker Priyadarshan. Speaking to Mashable India, he said:
"He was a cricketer but he could not get into the Under-19 team because of some political influence so he was moved out. He was very disappointed sitting at home. Someone called him to see a film, and that was Gardish. He said he saw Gardish and said, 'This is something I want to do and I came to Mumbai'."
This came as a turning point in the life of Aditya Dhar cricketer as the incident left him broken. He quit sports and shifted into the film industry, where he struggled initially but later delivered a blockbuster.
The reports claim that the player is Stuart Binny, son of the former India cricketer Roger Binny, who is also in the BCCI president list. However, it is not yet official whether Binny is that player or not.

Aditya Dhar had a tough time in the industry at the start. But after meeting Priyadarshan, his life changed as he impressed his senior director. The cricketer-turned-director also used to write dialogues and even developed his storytelling skills, which made him one of the best directors in India.
The years of hard work finally paid off as he delivered one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema. His movie Dhurandhar earned Rs 58 crore on its second Sunday and crossed Rs 500 crore in India within just 16 days.
Globally, the film crossed Rs 1000 crore within 21 days and eventually went on to earn over Rs 1300 crore worldwide. Part 2 of the film is all set to be released on March 19 and it is expected to be a big blockbuster as well.
