Former Afghanistan cricketer Shapoor Zadran has passed away after battling a prolonged disease in a Delhi hospital. The former Afghanistan quick was suffering from Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a life-threatening disease which hampers the immune system.

Shapoor was one of the most promising bowlers in Afghan cricket during his playing days. The talented left-arm quick even received praises from the legendary Wasim Akram, during an Asia Cup match.

The death of Shapoor Zadran has shocked the entire country as well as the cricketing fraternity. Various Afghanistan cricket stars like Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, and many more visited him when he was admitted to the hospital.

However, the 38-year-old couldn't survive, bringing an end to the life of a highly talented cricketer. The ACB took to X (formerly Twitter) to inform the fans about the Afghanistan cricketer death that has brought the cricket world to a standstill.

Shapoor Zadran death was confirmed by his brother Ghamai Zadran, who remained with his elder brother from the time he was admitted at Delhi in January. Many former cricketers, including the Afghanistan Cricket Board, helped Shapoor during this tough time but he couldn't survive any further.
