The 2023 ICC World Test Championship winners, Australia, have finalised the schedule for their upcoming home red-ball campaign against Bangladesh, with a two-match Test series set for August. One of the best cricket teams in the world, Australia, are at the top of the WTC standings after dominating the England cricket team by 4-1 in the recent Ashes and will aim to continue that momentum when they welcome Bangladesh later this year.

The first Test will begin on August 13 at Marrara Stadium in Darwin, while the second fixture will be staged from August 22 at Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay. Notably, Darwin has not hosted a men’s Test since Australia faced Sri Lanka there in 2004, but Cricket Australia chief executive Todd Greenberg has expressed confidence in the venue to stage a five-day international.

Cricket Australia CEO, Todd Greenberg, said, “We’re delighted to bring Test cricket to northern Australia and look forward to a fantastic series against Bangladesh. It is no secret the international calendar is now crowded, and we’re fortunate to have world-class facilities available in August, ensuring we have another window for Test cricket outside summer."

Following the Bangladesh series, Australia will begin their much-anticipated overseas tour of South Africa for a three-Test series in October, before returning home for a four-Test battle against rivals New Zealand across December and January. Bangladesh, meanwhile, occupy eighth position in the championship table and is scheduled to host Pakistan for a two-Test series in May prior to travelling to Australia.

The Bangladesh Tour of Australia 2026 will feature a two-match Test series scheduled across August, with the opening fixture set for August 13–17 at Marrara Stadium in Darwin, followed by the second Test from August 22–26 at Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay, which will host a Test for the first time, becoming the 12th venue to do so in Australia.
