History Created! Vaibhav Suryavanshi's Bihar Smashes Record Books with Massive Total in VHT

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Bihar unleashed an extraordinary batting display to smash a historic 574 for 6, surpassing the previous List A benchmark of 506 for 2, which had been set by Tamil Nadu against the same opposition in the 2022 edition of the tournament.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi's Innings Lead to Bihar Record in VHT
The Bihar record in Vijay Hazare Trophy was achieved by a trio of centuries. Young prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi stole the spotlight with a sensational knock of 190 runs off just 84 balls with 16 fours and 15 sixes, while Ayush Loharuka smashed 116 off 56 balls. Skipper Sakibul Gani then finished off the carnage with a hundred of his own, scoring 128 runs off 40 balls with 10 fours and 12 sixes, and it was one of the most attacking batting onslaughts ever witnessed in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has the potential to be one of the most dangerous batsmen in the world, became the youngest player to score a List A century. Gani, on the other hand, rewrote the record books by racing to his hundred in just 32 deliveries, the fastest century ever scored by an Indian in the format. Gani went past Punjab batter Anmolpreet Singh's 35-ball ton against Arunachal Pradesh in 2024.
Only five of the 40 deliveries Sakibal Gani faced resulted in dot balls, while as many as 22 balls were dispatched to or over the boundary. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, meanwhile, shattered the record to become the youngest centurion in List A cricket and went a step further by registering the fastest 150 ever scored in the history of one-day cricket.
