Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced free entry for fans for the upcoming two-match Test series against India, allowing spectators to watch the matches without purchasing tickets. Fans will be able to enter the stadiums through designated gates at the respective venues, and the IND vs SL Test free tickets have made things much easier for them to watch one of the best cricket teams in action.

The series is set to begin on August 15, with the opening Test scheduled to take place at the Galle International Stadium, which is one of the most beautiful cricket stadiums in the world. The second and final Test will be played in Colombo from August 23. Both matches will be part of the 2025–27 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle and will be important fixtures for the two teams as they look to stay in the competition.

Sri Lanka Cricket has used free entry as a way to attract bigger crowds in the past, including during Test series against New Zealand, Ireland and Bangladesh. A similar decision was taken for non-Sri Lanka matches during the 2026 T20 World Cup.

For the opening Sri Lanka vs India Test at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, fans will be able to watch the action without paying an entry fee, with Gate 4 designated for free access. In Colombo, fans attending the second Test at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) can enter free of charge through Gates 3, 4, 5 and 7.

"Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce that public admission to the upcoming Test Series between Sri Lanka and India will be free of charge, thus providing cricket fans with an excellent opportunity to witness world-class Test cricket," Sri Lanka Cricket said via a statement.
"Sri Lanka Cricket warmly invites cricket enthusiasts, young aspiring cricketers, families, and sports fans from across the country to take advantage of this initiative and experience the excitement of international Test cricket between Sri Lanka and India," the SLC statement added.

Tickets were also initially sold for the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL), but free entry was introduced after low attendance. The upcoming series will mark India’s first Test tour of Sri Lanka since 2017. India dominated that three-match series, completing a 3-0 clean sweep.
