ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Prize Money: How Much Will Teams Get?

The ICC Champions Trophy is all set to make a comeback after 8 years, and the tournament will be played from Feb 19 to Mar 9 in Pakistan and Dubai with Pakistan being the official hosts. As the stage is set for the tournament’s grand comeback, ICC has dropped mega news as it has revealed the prize money for the 9th edition of the tournament.

What is the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Prize Money?

The total prize pool has gone up by a whopping 53% in comparison to the ICC Champions Trophy prize money 2017 edition when the tournament was held last and now it stands at US$6.9 million (roughly INR 59 CR). Out of the total ICC Champions Trophy 2025 prize money, the ICC Champions Trophy winners on 9th March will receive a sum of US$2.24 million (INR 19.45 CR) along with the coveted trophy.

The runners-up will be given US$1.12 million (INR 9.72 CR) while the losing semi-finalists will take home a sum of US$560,000 (INR 4.86 CR) each. Meanwhile, a single win for a team in the tournament’s group stage will fetch them US$34,000 (INR 29.5 Lakhs).

Apart from that, an ICC statement said-

“Every match counts at the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy and each group match win is worth more than $34,000 to the victorious team. Teams that finished fifth or sixth will each earn $350,000 while the seventh and eighth-placed sides take home $140,000.

In addition, all eight teams are assured of $125,000 each for competing in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.”

ICC Chairman Jay Shah said in a statement – “The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 represents a pivotal moment for cricket, reviving a tournament that highlights the pinnacle of ODI talent, where every match is critical. The substantial prize pot underscores the ICC’s ongoing commitment to investing in the sport and maintaining the global prestige of our events. Beyond the financial incentive, this tournament ignites fierce competition, captivates fans worldwide, and plays a vital role in fostering the growth and long-term sustainability of cricket for future generations.”

The 8-team tournament with two groups of 4 teams each is slated to begin on February 19 at Karachi with a clash between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand and will commence on March 9 with the final being played in either Lahore or Dubai depending on whether India reaches the summit clash and the tournament will be the first ICC event hosted in Pakistan since 1996.
