ILT20 Continental Cup 2026 Schedule, Teams, Squads & Venue

The ILT20 Continental Cup 2026 will bring together eight African cricketing nations for the third edition of the tournament, with Rwanda hosting the competition at one of the smallest cricket stadiums in Kigali from September 1 to 13, 2026. The ILT20 Continental Cup teams are Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Malawi, Botswana and Sierra Leone.

Uganda will particularly view the event as valuable preparation for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Sub-Regional Qualifier in Nigeria in October. The competition will follow a round-robin format, with all eight teams playing each other once during the league phase before the top four sides advance to the knockout stage. The semi-finals are scheduled for September 12, while the title clash will take place on September 13 at the Gahanga Main Oval in Kigali.

Uganda will enter the tournament as the defending champions and the team to beat, having won the first two editions in 2023 and 2024. The Cricket Cranes have selected a relatively young squad for their title defence, led by Riazat Ali Shah, with Kenneth Waiswa serving as vice-captain. Uganda's league campaign is scheduled to begin against Malawi on September 3 at Gahanga B Oval.

ILT20 Continental Cup 2026 Schedule

As of now, the complete ILT20 Continental Cup schedule has not been revealed, and only the defending champions have shared their fixtures. Uganda will face Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Botswana, Kenya and hosts Rwanda during the league stage, with their final group match scheduled for September 11.

The top four teams will then move into the knockout phase, with the semi-finals taking place on September 12. The first-ranked team will meet the fourth-placed side, while the second-placed team will take on the third-placed team. The winners of those two matches will battle for the title in the ILT20 Continental Cup 2026 final on September 13.

ILT20 Continental Cup Squads

At this stage, Uganda are the only participating nation to have confirmed their ILT20 Continental Cup squad 2026. Riazat Ali Shah has been appointed captain, and Kenneth Waiswa will serve as his deputy. Robert Owili and Pius Oloka have been included as reserve players.

Squads for the other seven teams, Rwanda, Kenya, Botswana, Sierra Leone, Malawi, Nigeria and Tanzania, are yet to be officially confirmed and will be updated once the respective cricket boards announce their selections.
