Is Imran Khan Really Assassinated in Pakistan? Here's the Truth

imran khan death

Pakistan is under a new wave of political unrest following widespread rumours circulating online that former Prime Minister Imran Khan had been killed inside Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail. Despite the buzz on social media, no credible authority, news organisation, or official source has confirmed any such incident, and the claims remain entirely unverified.

Amid this chaos, Imran Khan’s sisters, Noreen, Aleema, and Uzma, demanded immediate access to the prison, insisting they be allowed to see their brother. They accused jail authorities of severely mistreating the former Pakistan skipper, who has repeatedly alleged harassment during his time in jail.

Is the News of Imran Khan Death True?

Imran Khan, now 72, has been behind bars since 2023 after being convicted in multiple corruption-related cases. On Wednesday, when large crowds of PTI supporters visited the outskirts of Adiala Jail, they reacted to the online rumours that quickly sparked public outrage, and tensions began to escalate quickly.

Platforms like X (formerly Twitter) were filled with posts claiming Imran Khan had been murdered. Several users also circulated a video of Imran Khan on a stretcher, though it is highly likely that the footage has been manipulated, and there is no credible source to confirm the assassination attempt on Imran Khan.

Back in July, Imran Khan alleged that he was being subjected to severe mistreatment in prison and urged members of his party to hold Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir responsible if anything happened to him.
