Once seen as one of the best Pakistani bowlers, Naseem has been in and out of the side over the past few months. Once a vital part of Pakistan's bowling attack, his deteriorating form ruled him out of the contention from Pakistan's Test team.

His place in the ODI and the T20I team has also not been safe. Even in the T20 World Cup 2026, he didn't play all the games despite Haris Rauf's absence. In the PSL 2026, he picked up 2 wickets in three matches before getting injured.
