The Australian Women’s Cricket Team has suffered a massive blow ahead of the ODI series against the Indian Women’s Cricket Team. Star pacer Kim Garth has suffered an injury and has been ruled out of the rest of the series, as per the reports in Code Sports.

After the three-match T20I series between the two, which went in favour of India, the two teams will be up against each other in the three-match ODI series. The series opener begins on Tuesday, February 24 at The Gabba in Brisbane.

Afterwards, the action moves to Hobart, where the second ODI will be played on February 27. The last and the final game will be played at the same venue on March 1. The India Women’s tour to Australia will conclude with the one-off Test in Perth, beginning from March 6.

As per the reports, Kim Garth has suffered a soft tissue concern and has been sent for scans. Cricket Australia is likely to address the injury publicly on Tuesday. Kim Garth injury is a major blow for Australia who were looking to make a comeback after the T20I series loss. Garth is one of the best pacers in the world and has played a big role in Australia's recent success.

Kim Garth has been one of the best women cricketers in the world and is currently ranked seventh in the ICC WODI rankings. Her absence would leave a massive void in the Australian side, especially with them already having lost the T20I series.

In her absence, Australia will now be dependent on Darcie Brown, as well as all-rounders Annabel Sutherland, Tahlia McGrath and Nicola Carey. It remains to be seen who will be Kim Garth replacement for Australia for the AUS women vs IND women ODI series.
