As the IPL 2026 playoff campaign is underway, Devdutt Padikkal remains busy with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where he will next be seen in action in the IPL 2026 final, where RCB will face either Gujarat Titans or Rajasthan Royals on May 31, 2026.

However, Karnataka cricket witnessed an emotional moment off the field on Thursday. Wicketkeeper-batter KV Siddarth officially announced his retirement from Indian cricket, bringing down the curtains on a long domestic journey with Karnataka and Goa.

KV Siddarth Retirement Ends Karnataka Cricket Career

KV Siddarth retirement brings an end to a solid domestic journey that included appearances for Karnataka and later Goa across formats. The KV Siddarth Karnataka cricketer played 35 first-class matches and scored more than 2,100 runs at an average above 38, including six centuries and 11 fifties. He also featured in List A and T20 cricket for Karnataka during his career, where he showed signs of becoming one of the best batsmen in India.

One of the biggest highlights of the KV Siddarth cricket career came during the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season when he scored 728 runs and finished as Karnataka’s leading run-getter. He also scored 410 runs in just four matches during the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy season. Can KV Siddarth Play In Foreign Leagues Or For Another Country?

After announcing his retirement from Indian cricket, KV Siddarth has now become eligible to play in overseas T20 leagues and club competitions outside India. Under BCCI rules, active Indian domestic cricketers are not allowed to participate in foreign franchise leagues unless they officially retire from Indian cricket. Several former Indian players have taken this route in recent years to continue their careers abroad or take part in some of the biggest cricket leagues in the world.

Players like Unmukt Chand moved to the USA setup after retirement and later featured in Major League Cricket. Siddarth has not yet announced any future plans, but his experience in domestic cricket and wicketkeeping skills could help him attract opportunities in the foreign leagues.
