WATCH: Huge Blunder as DJ Replaces Pakistan's National Anthem With Another Song

pakistan national anthem error

A controversial talking point among fans began even before the start of the play between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup clash, as issues during the national anthem have drawn attention. A similar mix-up occurred during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, held in Pakistan. A surprising blunder occurred when India’s national anthem, “Jana Gana Mana,” was mistakenly played during what was supposed to be Australia’s anthem ahead of their match against England in Lahore.

The incident had caused confusion and drawn criticism, prompting the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to seek clarification from the ICC. Now, during the Asia Cup clash of India vs Pakistan, the greatest rivalry in cricket, a similar situation occurred, and it came into the limelight even before the first ball of the match was bowled.

The song ‘Jalebi Baby’ was played when Pakistan’s national anthem should have been played before the game. It was a huge blunder from the organisers' part, and everyone, including the players, couldn't believe what had just happened. The incident took place just as the stadium announcer informed the crowd that the national anthems of both teams would be played shortly.

As Pakistan’s anthem was about to begin, an unexpected hiccup occurred as, instead of the Pakistan national anthem jalebi baby song suddenly played through the speakers. Realising the mix-up almost immediately, the DJ quickly corrected the error and switched over to the proper anthem without further delay. The ACC and the local organisers were urged by viewers across the globe to tighten protocols for future events and avoid such embarrassing errors.

India on Top of the Game as Pakistan Batters Get Bundled Out

India took full control of the game in their Asia Cup 2025 clash against Pakistan, leaving their opponents struggling at around 80 for 6 with less than 5 overs to go in the first innings. Keeping the Pakistan national anthem IND vs PAK controversy aside, this has been a complete domination from the Indian bowlers.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Pakistan got off to the worst possible start when Saim Ayub was dismissed on the very first ball by Hardik Pandya. Jasprit Bumrah, one of the best bowlers in the world, followed up with the wicket of Mohammad Haris, and from there, things only got worse for Pakistan. Fakhar Zaman tried to steady the innings but was removed by Axar Patel, who also got rid of captain Agha Salman soon after.

Kuldeep Yadav then joined the action, picking up two quick wickets and breaking the backbone of Pakistan’s middle order. The only bright spot for Pakistan was Sahibzada Farhan, who remained unbeaten and was close to a half-century, showing some resistance with three sixes. But Kuldeep got rid of him as well and picked his third wicket. Farhan received no support from the other end, and Pakistan’s innings looked completely off track.

Now, it is going to be really difficult for Pakistan to reach a respectable total as they have lost all their batting options, and now will be looking to at least bat the entire 20 overs and avoid that humiliation. India are clearly the favourites to win this clash and qualify for the Super 4, and then the Men in Blue will be eyeing the title this time around as well.
