All Rounder Out From IND vs NZ Series Following Injury? REPORTS

India and New Zealand are set to renew their rivalry in a massive multi-format series later this year, with the tour beginning on October 22. The two sides will play five T20Is before moving into the ODI leg and then two Tests.

However, New Zealand have already suffered a major setback ahead of the series. The Blackcaps have been dealt an injury blow involving one of their key all-rounders, with Rachin Ravindra now facing uncertainty over his availability for the opening T20I leg.

Rachin Ravindra Ruled Out of India T20Is?

New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra injury has made him doubtful for the upcoming five-match T20I series against India after he dislocated his right shoulder during a promotional shoot in Auckland on Wednesday, September 16. Ravindra was attempting a diving catch during filming with Sky when he landed awkwardly on a safety mat and suffered the injury.

The 26-year-old, who is one of the best batsmen in the world, underwent an assessment by medical specialists on Friday, September 18. The examination did not reveal any major structural damage, but his return-to-play timeline will depend on how he progresses during the initial stages of his rehabilitation. As a result, there is currently no confirmation over whether he will recover in time for the T20I series, which begins on October 22.

New Zealand Performance Manager Mike Sandle described the incident as unfortunate and said the team's priority was ensuring Ravindra makes a proper recovery. He also noted that safety measures were in place during the commercial shoot and called the incident a freak accident.

Head coach Rob Walter has also indicated that New Zealand will not rush Ravindra back, particularly with a demanding Test schedule ahead.

The New Zealand T20I squad for the India series is expected to be announced next week, meaning Ravindra's rehabilitation progress will be closely monitored before the selectors make a decision. This leaves out the possibility of Rachin Ravindra presence in India T20I series if he does not recover in time.
