Afghanistan stalwart Rashid Khan has achieved a massive milestone in T20 cricket. The premier spinner became the first ever bowler to complete 650 wickets in the shortest format of the game.
Rashid Khan achieved the feat while playing for Oval Invincibles in the Hundred 2025 against the London Spirit. The opening game of the tournament took place at the Lord's Cricket Ground in London on Monday, August 5.
Rashid Khan, one of the world's best all-rounders, had a terrific outing with the ball for the Oval Invincibles and helped his team win the game. He returned with the figures of 3/11 in 20 balls, removing Wayne Madsen, Liam Dawson and Ryan Higgins to start the tournament on a dominating note.
Rashid Khan reached the 650-wicket mark after he trapped Liam Dawson in an lbw affair for just one run. He became the first bowler in the history of the game to achieve the feat, which in itself reveals the kind of impact he has made in the shortest format of the game.

Rashid Khan New Record in T20 Cricket

Rashid Khan's spell with the ball helps Oval Invincibles win the opening game of the Hundred 2025. The Oval Invincibles started the Hundred 2025 on a dominating note as they beat London Spirit by six wickets. Opting to bat first, the London team managed just 80 runs on the board as the batters failed to read Rashid Khan.

With the bat, Will Jacks (24) was the top run-getter as the Oval Invincibles chased the target with six wickets in hand. For his heroics with the ball, Rashid Khan was awarded Player of the Match and would be keen to carry on his form in the tournament.

Rashid Khan's new record highlights his 651 wickets from 478 innings at an average of 18.54. He is followed by former West Indies player Dwayne Bravo, who finished his career with 631 wickets from 582 games. The Caribbean superstar was one of the biggest legends and best players in the Indian Premier League.
