The 124th edition of one of the iconic Australian domestic First Class Cricket tournaments, the Sheffield Shield 2025-26, will commence on October 4, 2025, and the final of the tournament will be played on March 26, 2026. The six teams will fight it out to come out on top as the winners of the Sheffield Shield 2025 - 26

According to the Sheffield Shield 2025-26 schedule, over 31 Test matches will be in this prestigious tournament. Six iconic teams of this tournament will go against each other. The teams that are going to be part of this iconic tournament are New South Wales, who are the most times champions of this tournament, with 47 titles, defending champions South Australia, with 14 titles, Victoria with 32 titles, Western Australia with 18 titles, runner-up of the last tournament Queensland with 9 titles, and lastly Tasmania with 3 titles to their name. The tournament will be played in 10 of the most iconic and biggest cricket stadiums in the world, which are Allan Border Field in Brisbane, Adelaide Oval in Adelaide, W.A.C.A. Ground in Perth, Junction Oval in Melbourne, Bellerive Oval in Hobart, The Gabba in Brisbane, Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney, Cricket Central in Sydney, Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide.

Sheffield Shield 2025-26 Schedule

As per the Sheffield Shield 2025-26 Schedule, the first match of the Sheffield Shield 2025-26 will take place between Queensland and Tasmania at one of the iconic and most beautiful cricket stadiums in the world, Allan Border Field, Brisbane. Indian spectators will be able to witness this game at 5:30 AM on Saturday, October 4th. The tournament will begin in October and will go on till late March 2026. The final game will be played on March 26, 2026.

From 4 October to the 31st of October, a total of 9 matches will be played. The next 6 games will be played in November, starting from November 10, and the last match of that month will be played on November 14. In December, three matches of the Sheffield Shield 2025-26 will be played, starting from December 4 and ending on the 8th.

In February, a total of 6 matches will be played, the first game will be held on February 5, with the final game of February will be played on the 19th. The final seven matches of the Sheffield Shield 2025-26, including the final of the tournament, will be played in March. On March 5, the first game will be played, while the final will be played on the 26th of March, as mentioned above.
