The third match of the ongoing Women's Premier League 2026 turned out to be a run-fest as the defending champions Mumbai Indians put up a great show against Delhi Capitals and scored 195 runs in the first innings, thanks to Nat Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur's half-centuries.

Delhi Capitals' bowlers looked clueless throughout the innings, despite a brilliant start in the powerplay. Meanwhile, during the first innings, DC spinner Sneh Rana did something which left the viewers scratching their heads.

Sneh Rana Dead Ball in MI vs DC WPL 2026

Sneh Rana came to bowl her third over in the 16th over of the first innings. However, while bowling the fifth delivery of the over, Sneh lost control of her length and bowled a rare dead ball in WPL.

The ball reached Harmanpreet after bouncing twice, and the umpire declared it a no-ball. Delhi Capitals Women's fielders looked frustrated with the umpire's decision.

Not just the delivery was declared a no-ball, the umpire also declared a free-hit; however, Harmanpreet couldn't utilise the opportunity and could only score one run on it.

Mumbai Indians batters on Rampage against Delhi Capitals

One of the richest WPL teams, Mumbai Indians batters put on a magnificent batting show in their second match of the season. After losing the first match in the last ball, it was a much-needed batting performance for the two-time champions. The innings started with Amelia Kerr registering a golden duck. After a few overs, G Kamalini also departed after scoring 16 runs. However, Nat Sciver-Brunt continued to score runs at a great pace and smashed a well-deserved half-century. Harmanpreet joined her and played as an anchor at the start; however, as time went on, she also started hitting aggressively. Both players stitched a 67-run stand for the third wicket and set the platform for a huge total.

Harmanpreet, too, completed her half-century and batted till the end, making sure that the team reached a good total in 20 overs. For DC, only Marizanne Kapp looked effective with the ball, conceding just 27 runs in four overs; however, she couldn't pick up a single wicket. Debutant Nandani Sharma also bowled decently, conceding 26 runs in three overs while picking up two wickets as well.
