Former Australia skipper Steve Smith produced a magnificent and rare display of destructive batting during the 37th match of the ongoing Big Bash League 2025-26. The Australian legend was at his absolute best and smashed the bowlers all around the park.

Opening the batting for Sydney Sixers against Sydney Thunder, along with former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, Smith proved that he still has it in the shortest format of the game with a 41-ball century.

Steve Smith's pure batting display helped him equal the 2nd fastest century record in Big Bash League history. He matched Josh Brown's record from 2024, where the Brisbane Heat batter achieved the milestone off the same number of deliveries against the Adelaide Strikers.

The players who sit above Smith and Brown are Craig Simmons and Mitchell Owen, who smashed hundreds in 39 deliveries. It's worth noting that Smith is not a T20 specialist despite being a GOAT of cricket. When it comes to T20 cricket, he hasn't produced many heroics, which is why this knock has taken the internet by storm as well as the cricket universe.

Steve Smith Sydney Sixers hundred in this game will be remembered for a long time. His century also helped the Sixers to easily chase down the 190-run target set by the Thunder.
