This edition of T20 WC also saw the most centuries in an edition (overall) making it to 5 centuries, previously it was 2. However, Sahibzada Farhan also became the first batsman to score a century twice in an edition of the T20 World Cup.

The Kiwi all-rounder, Glenn Phillips took the most number of catches by a fielder in a single edition (11*) which was previously held by Dasun Shanaka (9). The West Indies, one of the best T20 team in the world, smashed the most 6s in an edition by a team (76) which was also previously held by them. Shadley Van Schalkwyk, USA pacer, became the first bowler from an associate nations to claim four-wicket hauls twice in an edition of the T20 World Cup.
