Team India Brings 148 kmph Speedster to Trouble England in 1st ODI

England and India will face each other in the first of the three-match ODI series at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Tuesday, July 14. India had a very disappointing T20I series, losing 4-0 after England dominated them in every aspect of the game. Led by the new T20I skipper Shreyas Iyer, the visitors struggled to adjust to the English conditions.

Despite being an unexpected selection for India's ODI series against Afghanistan, Gurnoor Brar proved his inclusion with outstanding performances. The Punjab fast bowler used his height, pace, and hard-length bowling to trouble the Afghan batters throughout the series.

Gurnoor Brar fastest ball in the series was 148km/h, and he ended as the leading wicket-taker with seven wickets, including a superb spell of 3/27 in the opening ODI, which also marked his international debut. England's batting line-up, featuring Jacob Bethell, Joe Root, and Harry Brook, had problems facing deliveries that moved back into them during the recent Test series against New Zealand.

Brar's ability to angle the ball into the batters while generating bounce from a good length could test England once again and help India move a step closer to winning the ODI series. He should be a part of India playing 11 for the 1st ODI, as he will most likely get some assistance on these English conditions.
