Virat Kohli Reveals Who Helped Him During His Tough Phase

Virat Kohli Credits Rahul Dravid And Vikram Rathour
Speaking during the RCB Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit in Bengaluru on Tuesday, King of Cricket openly spoke about the support he received from Dravid and former batting coach Vikram Rathour during his difficult phase. Kohli said,
I've said this many times about Rahul bhai and Vikram Rathore. I had a great phase in Test cricket, and whenever I meet them, I thank them from the bottom of my heart because they took care of me in a way that made me feel like I wanted to play for them.
Kohli further admitted that self-doubt and imposter syndrome constantly affect players at the highest level and also added that Dravid understood his struggles because he had experienced similar situations himself. The former India captain added,
You constantly feel like you're never good enough, that imposter syndrome is always there. They understood what I was feeling and genuinely took care of me mentally. That put me in a space where I could enjoy my cricket again.
How Virat Kohli Found His Rhythm Back?
After enduring a lean patch, Virat Kohli under Rahul Dravid slowly returned to his best across formats. His comeback phase began with his unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan in the 2022 Asia Cup, which ended a nearly three-year wait for an international century. Since then, Kohli has regained consistency in both international cricket and the IPL. He finished as the highest run-scorer in the 2023 ODI World Cup with 765 runs in 11 matches, including three centuries and six fifties.
In IPL 2026 as well, Kohli has looked in excellent touch for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He recently smashed an unbeaten 105 off 60 balls against the Kolkata Knight Riders and also became the fastest batter to complete 14,000 T20 runs.
