“Both me and Gautam Gambhir value Test cricket and there is a certain way we both want our teams to play. Good conversation with him but it was more about the challenges of coaching,” said Kirsten.

Gary Kirsten became Sri Lanka men's head coach in earlier this year. He has worked with several subcontinental teams like India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka as the head coach. However, the highest point in his coaching career came when India won the 2011 ODI World Cup title during his tenure.
