More Trouble for Nitish Kumar Reddy Days After England Series Exit

India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has landed in serious legal trouble. Reddy, who was recently part of India’s squad for the five-match Test series against England, got injured after the third Test and was ruled out of the remaining two matches. After returning to India, things got worse for the player. His former management agency, Square The One Private Limited, filed a legal case against him.

The agency claims that Reddy broke their agreement. They also claim that he did not pay the money he owed. According to a report by India Today, the agency has managed Reddy since 2021. They helped him with brand deals, advertisements, and other commercial activities. The young cricketer has been accused of not clearing dues worth ₹5 crore.

The company has filed a petition under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act. This section deals with appointment of arbitrators in case of contract disputes. The matter is now with the Delhi High Court. The court is likely to hear the case on Monday, July 28.
The agency says that Nitish Kumar Reddy ended his four-year deal with them during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. That was the time when India were paying a Test series against Australia. After that, Reddy reportedly chose a new manager. The company claims Reddy left without clearing their dues. They are now demanding ₹5 crore for services they say were already provided.

A source told India Today that most of these cases are settled in private. “Ninety percent of such disputes do not reach court and are resolved privately. But in this case, Nitish refused to pay any money and claimed he had secured the deals himself,” the source said.

This statement makes it clear that both sides are not agreeing to settle the issue outside court. Reddy believes that he got most of his brand deals on his own. But the agency says they were behind his success off the field.

Meanwhile, Reddy is also dealing with a knee injury currently. He suffered the injury after the third Test against England and had to leave the series midway. His absence was a big blow to the Indian team. India was already trailing 1-2 in the five-match series. Things got worse before the fourth Test. Fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep were also ruled out due to injuries.

To fill the gaps, India brought in fresh players. Anshul Kamboj replaced Arshdeep Singh in the squad. Left-handed batter Sai Sudharsan was also given a chance. He came into the Playing XI in place of Karun Nair for the fourth Test in Manchester.

Now, all eyes are on the court case. The Delhi High Court will take up the matter on July 28. Reddy or his team has not made any official statement yet.
This is a rare case in Indian cricket. It’s not often that cricketers are taken to court over management deals. If the court believes that Nitish Kumar Reddy legal trouble case is true, he might have to pay a huge amount.

After missing the first Test, Reddy played the next two Tests for India during the series against England, played in Edgbaston and Lord's respectively.
