Rohit Sharma is expected to join the squad on September 24. Like Kohli, Rohit is returning to India's ODI setup and will be one of the key senior batters in the series. The duo last featured for India in the ODI format during the England series earlier in 2026. Other members of the squad are also expected to report to Thiruvananthapuram around September 23 and 24.

KL Rahul, who has been named vice-captain, is part of the ODI group, while Nitish Kumar Reddy has also been included after being withdrawn from India's Asian Games squad to participate in the West Indies series.
