Who is ONLY INDIAN Cricketer in ILT20 Auction 2026?

The International League T20 is gearing up for its fifth season and is all set to bring together some of the best T20 batsmen in the world. The ILT20 Season 5 will be played in the UAE, with the competition scheduled to run from November 21 to December 20, 2026. Six franchises will compete in the tournament, with the teams now looking to complete their squads through the upcoming player auction.

The ILT20 2026 auction is scheduled to take place at the ICC Academy Indoors in Dubai on October 1, 2026. A total of 200 players from 23 countries are part of the auction pool. Several major international names, including Babar Azam, Phil Salt, Faf du Plessis, Liam Livingstone, Wanindu Hasaranga, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Alzarri Joseph, are among the players available for selection.

The upcoming auction has also attracted attention in India as only one Indian cricketer is included in the ILT20 Season 5 auction pool. The development is notable because active Indian players are generally not permitted to participate in overseas franchise leagues; only retired or non-active Indian players can feature in such competitions.

Who is the Only Indian Cricketer in ILT20 Auction 2026?

Murugan Ashwin is the only Indian player in the ILT20 Season 5 auction pool. The Tamil Nadu-born leg-spinner is part of the list of 200 players from 23 countries who will be available during the auction in Dubai. The leg-spinner has also played in the richest cricket league in the world, the Indian Premier League, representing franchises including Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Supergiant, Kings XI Punjab, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians during his career.

A total of 17 Pakistani players are part of the ILT20 2026-27 auction pool, with Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Naseem Shah, Usman Tariq, Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan, Hassan Nawaz, Mohammad Nawaz, Saim Ayub, Khushdil Shah, Maaz Sadaqat and Sahibzada Farhan among the notable names. The players have been divided into three base-price categories of USD 80,000, USD 40,000 and USD 10,000.

All six franchises will have a starting purse of USD 1.3 million, with unused funds from their USD 700,000 pre-auction allocation added to it. Teams can also use one Right to Match (RTM) option on an eligible UAE player. Each squad must contain between 18 and 23 players and meet mandatory composition requirements, including at least 11 Full Member players, four Afghanistan players, one Ireland player and four UAE players. Teams must also include players from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and another Associate nation.
