Who Will Replace Cameron Green in Australia T20I Squad For Bangladesh Series?

Australia have suffered a blow ahead of the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh starting from June 17. Cameron Green, one of the key players in this team, won't play a part in this series.

According to the reports, Green has opted out of the series to manage his workload for the upcoming Test season. He has flown home after the completion of the ODI series and will be rested for the upcoming Test series. Australia will feel the absence of Cameron Green in Bangladesh T20 series as he is one of the best all-rounders in the world.

Cricket Australia has not named a replacement for Cameron Green for the T20I series against Bangladesh. Since Australia already have all-rounders like Mitchell Marsh and Aaron Hardie in the squad, they might not announce Cameron Green's replacement.

Mitchell Marsh, Australia's captain, doesn't bowl too often now but Aaron Hardie is a capable all-rounder, especially in the T20 format. He has been quite impressive in the Big Bash League (BBL), both as a batter and as a bowler.

Apart from Marsh and Hardie, Australia also have Nikhil Chaudhary in the squad, a talented spin bowling all-rounder who has done well in the BBL, one of the biggest cricket leagues in the world. He can be handy in Bangladesh, where conditions suit spin bowling.

Bowling all-rounder Sean Abbott is another contender to replace Green for Australia T20I squad for Bangladesh series. He has been a consistent performer in the T20 format and his variations can be useful in these conditions.

Where Will Cameron Green Play Next?

Cameron Green will next play in the Test series against Bangladesh, to be played on Australian soil. The two-match Test series will begin from August 13 and is also a part of the World Test Championship. It will mark the beginning of the Australian summer.

Recently, during the ODI series against Bangladesh, Green scored 104 runs in three matches at an average of 52 with one half-century to his name. The right-hander also picked up a solitary wicket during the three-match series.
