The management has decided not to play any practice match ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2027 because of a tight playing schedule, and the management has also taken a strategic decision to set up specialised training camps instead of practice sessions. The management will shortlist players like Matthew Kuhnemann, Todd Murphy, Cooper Connolly, Peter Handscomb and Matthew Renshaw, who are likely not to be part of the home tests and will be in the probables for the BGT squad, where these players will be practising on specially curated pitches that will be like Indian pitches.

The management might also look at setting up a special camp in the UAE just like they did in 2018 before touring Pakistan, but the conditions in the Middle East might stop them from holding this camp as the Department of Foreign Affairs is currently advising Australians to “reconsider your need to travel".
