DRS Not Available in Tri Nation A Series: Reason Revealed

The reason behind the DRS not available in Tri Nation A series in Sri Lanka is the financial constraints of the respective cricket board. The Decision Review System (DRS) operates at high operational costs, which are often not borne by the host boards during the local tournaments or domestic tournaments like the A Series.

The DRS being not available also goes with the broadcasting quality of the series, where the quality has been very poor since the start of the series. Players cannot review LBW calls and caught behind decisions, whereas the third umpire can look into the decisions referred by the on-field umpire, such as run-out, no balls or fair catch on the boundary line.

Moments Where DRS Was Needed in IND-A vs SL-A

There have been several moments where the need for DRS has felt during the Tri Nation A Series. During the IND-A vs SL-A match, there were many instances when Suryansh Shedge was batting. He got beaten by a spinner, and the appeal of LBW was in favour of the batter, many a times, where it looked like that Shedge was out, but due to the unavailability of DRS, SL-A couldn't do anything.
