Why Shpageeza Cricket League 2026 Stopped Midway?

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced that Shpageeza Cricket League 2026 matches will be postponed for two days. This decision was taken as a mark of respect and in tribute to the late Shapoor Zadran, who passed away after prolonged illness on July 7, 2026, in New Delhi. The announcement was made that the scheduled matches for Wednesday, July 8, and Thursday, July 9, in the 11th edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League 2026, have been postponed.

The official X Account of the Afghanistan Cricket Board also announced that,

The late Shapoor Zadran’s body will be repatriated to Afghanistan tomorrow and laid to rest the following day. Officials of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, along with national players, will attend the funeral ceremony to pay their final respects.
We pray that Almighty Allah grants the departed soul the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdaws and blesses his family, loved ones, friends, and the entire cricket fraternity with patience and strength during this difficult time.

Shpageeza Cricket League 2026 Revised Schedule

As announced by the ACB, “A revised schedule for the remainder of the tournament will be announced in due course.” There were a total of 4 matches that were supposed to be played on these two given days, but after the tournament got postponed, all the remaining matches will likely be pushed 2 days ahead, where the order of matches would be the same, but with different dates.
