Why Vaibhav Suryavanshi Is Not Picked In India Squad For Afghanistan Series?

India's squad for the upcoming series against Afghanistan has been selected with some of the major changes in squads for both the Test and the ODIs. However, a big surprise was the absence of the young teenage sensation, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, from both the squads.

Suryavanshi is having a terrific Indian Premier League season with the bat where he is a major contender for the IPL Orange Cap. While he wasn't expected to be picked for the Test match, his non-selection for the ODIs was a surprise.

Why Vaibhav Suryavanshi Is Not In India Squad For Afghanistan Series?

Despite Suryavanshi being in prime form, he wasn't considered for the Afghanistan series. The major reason behind his absence is his selection for the India A tri-series, to be held in Sri Lanka.

India A will play a tri-series in Dambulla, where the other two teams are Afghanistan A and the hosts Sri Lanka A. Vaibhav is likely to open the batting in this series and if he does well, he will be close to his international selection.
