The controversy between two former India cricketers, Sreesanth and Harbhajan Singh, has reignited with the former challenging the latter for an open fight in the ring.

These shocking remarks have come after almost two decades of the infamous 'slapgate incident' that shook Indian cricket. The controversy had been resolved earlier but Sreesanth, one of the top cricketers from Kerala, took exception of an advertisement where Harbhajan and blamed him to make profit from this incident.

Why Did Sreesanth Challenge Harbhajan Singh?

During an interview with Lallantop, Sreesanth challenged Harbhajan, one of the best Test bowlers of all time, to show some guts and fight in the ring. Sreesanth, who is currently in the Bear Knuckle Fight League, asked Harbhajan to have some self-respect and fight in real instead of doing advertisements.

"I am currently in the Bear Knuckle Fight League. I am challenging you, Bhajji. If you have this much of a problem with the slap thing and me, and you earn this much... let me earn too," Sreesanth said.

"Come into the ring. I am calling you from my heart. If we have some self-respect, let's not do ads and all that. In a genuine way, for all the Malayalis and all the Sardars, please come. I am waiting," he added.

The Harbhajan Sreesanth slapgate incident had settled down after both players shook hands and even hugged each other. Harbhajan even apologised to Sreesanth numerous times after this controversy that went quite viral in the media.

However, Harbhajan's recent advertisement ignited this controversy once again. The former India offspinner was seen making light work of the slapgate controversy, which didn't go well with Sreesanth, who blamed him of making money of this unfortunate controversy.

Will Harbhajan Singh Accept Sreesanth Fight Challenge?

As per the reports, Harbhajan Singh has not responded to Sreesanth's controversial comments yet. The legendary India spinner is unlikely to accept this challenge, although he might reply to Sreesanth.
The fans will be awaiting Harbhajan's reply to Sreesanth on this matter that is likely to be all over social media now. Both Sreesanth and Harbhajan were amongst the best bowlers in India at one time and were also a part of the 2011 World Cup-winning team.

The Sreesanth Harbhajan slapgate controversy took place during the IPL 2008 match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab. After the match, Harbhajan slapped Sreesanth during the customary handshakes, leaving everyone present at the ground in shock.
