EA FC 26 Title Update 1.6.0 Patch: PlayStyle Changes, Penalty Shootout event, And More

EA Sports has recently released EA FC 26 Title Update 1.6.0, with the World Cup 2026 about to start in a couple of weeks. The licensed national teams will surely be the highlight of these patch notes. EA released the detailed patch, naming it FC 26 World's Game Update earlier. And this one certainly is one of the biggest patches we've had our hands on in the last couple of months. From Bruiser PlayStyle nerf to Club mode changes, there's a lot to go through once you go through it. FC 26 1.6.0 Version Update Announced: Update Timings and Release Date

While the whole community seem excited about the World's Game Tournament mode, they have to wait till next week. EA has promised to drop the update on June 4, 2026. They, however, can experience the rest of the tweaks implemented by EA Sports.

A recent X post from @EASFCDirect has posted the full pitch notes, highlighting EA FC 26 Title Update 1.6.0. As of this writing on May 28, 2026, the update has already gone live on the Ultimate Team servers. They've replied on the same post and mentioned to notify the community when the Squad update will go live.

FC 26 Title Update Version 1.6.0 Changes

Title Update Version 1.6.0 in FC 26 PlayStyles Changes

Bruiser PlayStyle Tweaks

• EA has reduced the boost to shoulder challenges.
• Enhanced a slight boost to the receiver of this challenge in case they have Enforcer+ PlayStyle.
• The Shoulder challenge outcomes will now depend on whether the tackler is weak, average, or strong. Meanwhile, it'll also depend on the dribbler they'll be tackling. The stronger the tackler, the greater the impact will be on the dribbler.
• The shoulder challenge detection is also improved. If the challenge hits on the back of the attacker, the effect will be minimal.
• A visual bug related to the Bruiser+ icon display has been fixed.

Intercept PlayStyle Tweaks

• EA Sports has added a special Intercept PlayStyle for those who have 90+ overall for that specific attribute.

Team Press Changes

• EA Sports has made a couple of interesting changes for this specific on-field PlayStyle. These, however, mostly favour the community during Squad Battles. Here's a brief:
• The developers have reduced the pressure for the ball carrier, especially if players are in their own half. The AI footballers will be a little less aggressive.
• The AI defenders will try to limit their team's pressing attribute while the ball is in the defensive half.
• Whenever players enter their attacking half, the defenders will act normally and increase their marking tightness across the field.

Other Changes in the Latest Title Update 1.6.0

Ultimate Team Changes

• Evolutions can now be removed or repeated based on your preference.
• A Brand new Token system has been introduced in the loop.
• A seperate FUT Champions Tokens concept is also there, and it can be utilised in the store with the same name.
• A Festival of Football PlayStyles Lab has also been introduced. The lab comprises: Star Performers, National Pride, National Pride Champions, and Glory Hunters.

Clubs Changes

• The Signature PlayStyle slots have been increased to 4.
• The normal PlayStyle slots have also been increased to 9 from 8.
• EA has also added a fourth Signature PlayStyle for each Archetype. It can also be upgraded to PlayStyle+ at level 95.
• Archetype PlayStyle level cap has also been increased to 95.

Career Mode Changes

• Festival of Football themed Heroes and Icon cards have been re-introduced.
• End of the Season Live Starting points have been added.
• A handful of new challenges have been added before the World Cup 2026.

Penalty Shootout Event

• A fun Penalty Shootout event will be introduced in the FUT and Kick-Off mode. This event will be available from 28th June on the server.

General, Visual, and Audio Changes

• As usual, the changes are not something major. Here's a brief:
  The boot time has been improved for Steam users.
• The main menu has been refreshed, more inclined towards The World's Game theme.
• EA has updated a few crests, hair, badges, and much more.
