Konami Brings New eFootball Team Playstyle Overload in Season Update: Here's How To Play

Konami is about to change the eFootball meta through the new team playstyle, which will arrive in the game after the v6.0.0 update. eFootball Overload playstyle will function as your high-line tactic, where all players, irrespective of their position, will press the ball and the carrier. eFootball v6.0.0 Update Brings New Playstyle ‘Overload’

Don't be surprised if the eFootball Overload playstyle becomes the new in-game meta after the season update. It's an extremely aggressive playstyle, where players will look to get the ball and launch counters. The Overload eFootball playstyle will arrive in the game on August 13, 2026, with a free manager.

Your dream team players will behave uniquely in different phases with this playstyle. This means players will press while attacking, sit back while defending and overload the side of the pitch where the ball is in play.

How to Use the eFootball Overload Playstyle?

The new eFootball Overload playstyle works like a high-line system. The players will press aggressively on the side of the pitch where the ball is in play. This gives your team numerical superiority to retrieve possession and play small passes in short distances while attacking to break opposition defences.

eFootball overload playstyle enables the team to maintain a compact shape while defending. The team presses aggressively when the ball is in the opponent's half, shutting down any free space. Once you intercept the ball and regain possession, the players focus on giving possession and immediately trigger a counterattack.

If you miss-pass the ball and lose possession, players will aggressively press the ball to get it back. Here's a pro tip to use eFootball overload: don't assign attacking instructions on the team at any point in the match, since it may leave spaces in your backline. You may begin with a low block and then proceed to play short passes instead of spamming through balls.

The focus is on maintaining possession. Your players must have high stamina since all of them will press relentlessly. We recommend playing 4 defenders for this playstyle.

List of Managers Who Can Play Overload Playstyle in eFootball

As per the official Connect stream from August 12, 2026, the eFootball Overload playstyle is only equipped to one manager so far. The new manager, Frank Lampard (2025-26), is the only one with the new eFootball team playstyle.

Konami has yet to announce the playing proficiency, but we expect it to be either 89 or 90. He will also have a special link-up playstyle, which will be announced after the eFootball v6.0.0 update goes live.
