eFootball Smart Assist Settings

Summary

  • Konami is bringing matchmaking filters to eFootball for division matches.
  • Players will be able to match with the opposition with similar match settings.
  • Players can match with opponents who don't use Smart Assist.

Konami has put a smile on the faces of the players who don't use Smart Assist in eFootball. The next update is bringing the eFootball Smart Assist settings feature, which will allow such users to bypass opponents using it in division matches.

Smart Assist is a feature in eFootball that helps players to make auto-clearances while defending, pass and dribble more accurately, and auto-selects the type of shots while shooting. This feature is found in the Play Settings’ section of the game.

Konami to Bring Matchmaking Filters

Konami brought a pleasant surprise for those who are into real grinding and trying to get better in the game. The next eFootball update may bring the eFootball Smart Assist filter into the division matches. Players will be able to be selective and choose the type of opponents they want to face in the eFootball league.

eFootball Smart Assist settings, once implemented, will help players filter their opposition based on their usage of the ‘Smart Assist’ feature. The option will be available for the higher divisions (3 to 1).

Konami is looking to test the new matchmaking feature, hence players may need to wait longer to get matched with a player with ‘Smart Assist’ off. There is also a possibility of getting matched with an opponent with an unstable connection.

How to Use eFootball Smart Assist Settings

The new matchmaking based on the smart assist eFootball function will give the option to avoid its users. All you gotta do is follow these steps:

  • Turn off ‘Smart Assist’ from the Play Settings.
  • Head to the eFootball league and select match settings.
  • Choose the option ‘Same setting as mine’ to get matched with players with Smart Assist off.
  • Choose the ‘Match Freely’ option if you wish to get matched with players with either Smart Assist on or off.

eFootball Smart Assist is one of the most controversial features in the game. Konami couldn't r risk removing it completely, given nearly half of the players actively use it. While it was introduced to help the newcomers to be more competitive and drive their progression in the eFootball league, the feature has been exploited by high skill cap players to get unfair advantages in the matches.

This feature, when used by a pro who already knows how and when to dribble, pass, shoot, and clear, puts the fair play practice in jeopardy when matches with an opponent with a similar or less skill set who is not using the feature. Konami has already banned its use from esports tournaments.

The eFootball Smart Assist settings will be released in a limited play test, but it's at least a step in the right direction. Players' feedback from an upcoming survey will determine its full-time inclusion in the new season.
